I'm asking you....

...for some help/advice/opinions...so...let's pretend you are getting married (temple or not) What do you want from your photographer? Like what do you want pictures of. I have a few weddings coming up this year, and to be honest. I get nervous shooting weddings! So I am just curious what things you want photographed at your wedding. Now obviously this changes with everyone, and I will ask my clients what they want as well, but I want to know what the general public (being YOU!) would like. I do okay with temple weddings, because I don't have to photograph the ceremony, but if you're not doing a temple wedding, what do you want to make sure I get at the ceremony. What about the reception? Those of you who are married, what do you wish your photographer had taken pictures of, or what did you like/not like, etc. I really want to know, so please help me out! Thanks everyone! :)

Also, be sure to stay tuned...I have the most exciting post EVER coming up. But I won't tell you what it is unless i get a lot of comments...hehehehe...okay, I'll tell you SOMEDAY, but if you want to know sooner...well, you know what to do! Thanks all!!

For non temple weddings I would say.. a picture of the bride coming down the aisle with her father, giving over to the groom, ring exchange of course, and walking down aisle together.

Temple weddings, I would prob get more specific about family photos since how many of us actually print those out.

I find if you want other ideas...find other wedding photographers and their galleries to see about different ideas

I think you HAVE to have a few different poses with just the hands with the wedding rings on them. I love those pics of ours. Also it's fun to have the bride and groom kiss with both sets of parents kissing on each side of them, it's cute. Um...I think pics of all the detailed things at the reception/wedding are fun, like the cake, table settings, refreshments, gifts, decorations etc. hope that helps!

make sure someone puts their foot down to get pictures of the whole family for each bride and groom. i got pictures of me with nieces and nephews and with my sisters, but for one i didn't think to get just one of me and my dad and wish i did. just me and my mom. also just my whole family (brother sisters in laws, parents, nieces and nephews) all together. didn't get one of those. I wanted to after the program, but seth and buck were like "we gotta get all these people through the line." i should have put my foot down. we have one with buck's whole family, but not mine. i'm still kind of sad about that. that wasn't the photographers fault, but i think as the photographer you can encourage the bride to be bridezilla if she has to to get the people in the pictures she wants.

You just have to take about a million pictures...PERIOD!!! That seems like an overwhelming task. If it were me I would shoot the bride and groom a few days before the wedding, and then take a few on the wedding day, but focus mostly on all the group shots and candid pictures on the big day. GOOD LUCK!

I think I agree with Cordie...take pictures of the bride and groom a few days prior so that you can focus on the rest of the group pictures and the reception. If it is a non temple wedding. I would get a picture of the bride coming down the aisle and then the brides dad kissing her daughter and giving her away. I don't know if they do this or not. But I've seen the brides dad shake or hug the groom and I would get a picture of that. Just take a billion pictures of everything. I am sad that i didn't get pictures with just my mom and I. We got one with my dad and one with both my mom and mother in law but not just my mom and i. I would get shots of family and just seriously EVERYTHING!!! Also, I want to hear your news!!! I have an idea of what I think it is. :D

Weddings are tough. Lots of pressure. ;) I can't remember mine to think what I would want. ha!

By the way, if you noticed that your comment disappeared on my blog . . . I started getting a gazillion stupid spams a day and was deleting, deleting, deleting and accidentally pushed it one to many times once. Sorry. I've since stopped the spammers so yay!

Hey,
I don't really live on my computer like it appears I do, since you just asked me a question and I am answering you so promptly...anyways, I make my collages with Picasa 3. It is a free download and I LOVE it for cropping and collages!
