Christmas Lights

Okay, so I'm sure you're sick of my posts by now, but I have pics of our MILLIONS of Christmas lights! I'm telling ya, Greg loves his lights. It's kind of embarrassing the ridiculous amounts we have, but it's fun, and he really gets into it. It's kind of sucked this year, because we have been having problems with parts of our electricity (just this one circuit) and it just so happens to be the circuit our outdoor lights, and our Christmas tree are on, so we haven't been able to turn them on. (I blame all his lights for causing the problems with our electricity. hehe, he doesn't think it's funny!) But here they are.

Here's the man of the house putting up the lights.

I helped a little! :)

I don't think this is very safe...

None of the snowmen lights work now.... :( But I made him get pathway lights, cuz I love them.

These are my favorite lights of all. We have them hung around the door.

Here they are!

Yes, there are more!

(P.S. He still wants more!)

Merry Christmas....

So, Shari emailed this to me, and I decided to blog it instead of email it!

Tis the Season to have a little fun!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? I LOVE wrapping presents. It's my most favorite thing about Christmas presents. When I was younger, my mom and dad would always have me wrap their presents to each other. I LOVED it! Gift bags are easier though...I just prefer to wrap! :)

2. Real tree or artificial? Real ones remind me of Gram. She refused to get a fake tree, even when she was getting too old to water the tree herself. (She still did, but it wasn't easy for her to get down on the floor and crawl under the tree..) I was ALWAYS afraid that her tree would get to dry and catch on fire. She had those old fashioned lights, the ones with the big bulbs, so it worried me. The point...I love real trees because they remind me of her, but Greg and I have an artificial one that is BEAUTIFUL. 7 1/2 feet high, full..(we couldn't put the bottom branches on cuz our house is too small)

3. When do you put up the tree? Depends..I think last year we put it up BEFORE Thanksgiving. Whenever Greg gets in his moods to put up lights. This year we just barely did it on the 2nd. (We're having issues w/ our electricity, so we didn't put it up for a while....) We have it up, but we haven't plugged it in yet...

4. When do you take your tree down? We usually wait until January. I hate taking it down so soon after Christmas. It's like as soon as the decorations are down Christmas is over and done. Ya know?

5. Do you like eggnog? Never tried it actually..

6. Favorite gift received as a child? I don't really remember...maybe my bear blanket (Still have it), this huge stamp set (like rubber stamps) that I LOVED, and this friendship bracelet making kit. (I was quite the crafty little girl)

7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yeah. I have a cute little snowman one my mom gave me.

8. Hardest person to buy for? GREG!!!! I could ask him months in advance what he wanted, and he always says "I don't know, I don't really need anything." Even if that's true, I still want to buy him stuff. If there's something we want, we usually buy it whenever, so if there was something he wanted, he'd just buy it himself. So he's a pain to buy for. If anyone has ideas, LET ME KNOW!!!!

9. Easiest person to buy for? Myself...I know exactly what i want! :) lol, kidding, I really don't know though. Kennan probably, anything to do with sports!

10. Worst Christmas gift you ever got? Underwear and socks! Mom, I know they were necessities, but cmon, it's CHRISTMAS!!! :) (That reminds me....we always video taped opening presents, and evertime we'd open a present and say "what is it" Dad would say, "Underwear") haha...

11. Mail or email Christmas cards? I love mail, so I would prefer to mail them, however, Christmas season can get hectic, so it's easier to email them.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? A Christmas Story....LOVE IT! When Brady and I were younger (about 4 years ago and before :) when we'd wake up at 2 in the morning, (we couldn't open presents until 6 with the rest of the family) We would look at our stocking stuff, then watch A Christmas Story over and over until everyone was awake

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Umm, well, I haven't started this year yet. Usually last minute....

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? I don't think I have. That's weird...

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Hot chocolate

16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? COLORED!!! You lame people with clear lights!!! What's your problem!!! Color is Christmasy...

17. Favorite Christmas song? Joy to the World (lol, it's a long story...) and Angels We Have Heard on Hgih

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? I like staying at home. We always did when we were younger, and I plan to now. (I mean, for actual Christmas eve and day.) It's fun to visit family and all that, but I like staying home. I will admit though. It's kind of lame with just two people and no little kids (Brady) waking me u p early in the morning, but it's okay. I'll get used to it. (until we have our own kids)

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, Rudolph (Much easier than trying to name the 7 dwarfs!)

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? star

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? On present on Christmas Eve, the rest in the morning

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? RETAIL!!! People get ornery and selfish, and the Christmas spirit just kind of fades! Makes me so sad....I LOVE CHRISTMAS, and it bugs me when people are mean to me at work (and anywhere really).

Thanksgiving/Black Friday???

So, Thanksgiving this year was great. Greg and I both had to work so we decided to have our Thanksgiving dinner at our own house. We've done it the past two years, so we're pretty much pros at this turkey thing. I had to work EARLY Thanksgiving day (Yeah, Kmart can be pretty heartless :) So Greg had to make dinner. (Okay, to be honest, he probly would've done it even if I were here...) I did help out when I got home. I think I made the potatos and jello. Anyway. It was a delicious dinner, and though I was exhausted, it was nice to be able to relax with my husband and watch FOOTBALL all day long. Yes, I never was an NFL fan until I met Greg. I napped during the fourth quarter of the Packers game only to wake up (still half asleep) and ask Greg what time the cowboys played. Lol, it was a LONG day, and though I missed spending Thanksgiving with family, it was a GREAT Thanksgiving with just Greg and I.

Alrighty, so Black Friday. I have worked retail for 3 years, and I've been alive through 21 of them, and I NEVER knew until this year that they call it Black Friday. Messed up, huh? Anyway, that's not the point. For those of you who shopped early on this day...YOU'RE FREAKIN' CRAZY PEOPLE!!! and I can say that because I know first hand what it's like to be a worker in the middle of all these crazy people. Good heavens. I guess I can only laugh at the craziness and impatience of people on this day. It's unbelievable to me the way people act and how impatient they get. Good heavens. You're gonna wait in line no matter where you shop, stop complaining! Lol, it's just interesting, but I can only laugh! There's nothing else to do. I am vowing this 6th day of December of the year 2007 that I will NEVER be a super early Black Friday shopper!!! :) But for those of you who had fun with the shopping, I laugh! :) Anyway...that's my experience with my first known Black Friday!
