The Rest of February

February is almost over. Crazy! It's been an interesting month, but good all the same.

We had our enrichment/Relief Society activity on the 13th, and we played the "Not-so-Newlywed" game. We wanted to something on love, but be able to reach out to everyone, so we thought this would be fun. We invited the sisters to bring a loved one (spouse, friend, etc.) and we had a decent turnout. We got the questions from The Dating Divas, and then invited each of the Priesthood leaders and their wives to be on the panel. We even got our Stake President and his wife (they're in our ward). Then we had the 1st counselor in the bishopric, High Priest group leader, Elder's Quorum President, and the Young Men's president and each of their wives. There were some great laughs, and we ended the night with brownies and ice cream. It was loads of fun.

The next day was Valentine's day. We worked, then headed off to Star Valley so we could spend some time with Greg's sister Adrienne (who lives in Virginia) and her almost 2 year old (his birthday is today. Happy Birthday Jax!) It was a good day, and a good trip. There is a ton of snow, and was pretty cold. But it was fun to see family. We haven't seen Adrienne and Jax in about a year, and then Shaina and Jesse came up. We don't get to see them as much either since they moved to Bountiful area. Plus it was nice just to hang out.

My Valentine from Greg...I think he stole it from some kid at school.

Road trip food (Arby's), the fun bumpy bridge outside of Grace, raining almost the entire trip.

Road trip selfie!

Greg & Jax...I think Jax wore Greg out.

Greg's birthday was the 15th, and we just enjoyed a fun, relaxing day in Star Valley. He is 32 this year. I got him a few shirts, and some chocolates. Love him.

On Monday the 17th I got a text from Kennan letting me know that his last home basketball game was on Friday, and that if I wanted, they could come pick me up. Since I haven't seen Kennan play EVER, I thought it would be fun to go. It was fun, and Kennan did awesome. I can't wait to watch him again next year. Hopefully I can make it to more games.

Papa & Liam, Uncle Donald, they block off a section just for the Thompson family.

I can't believe he is already a junior! It is so crazy.

It's so crazy seeing all these kids. There was a section on the opposite with the little elementary kids, and I kept looking over there expecting to see Kennan. I can't believe it.

It was a fun game, and they came out on top. Good luck at regionals this week!

I stayed the night and was woken up early in the morning by a snow plow! It was not even snowing the day before, I was not expecting it. It was coming down pretty good when I finally got out of bed. I spent the morning with the family. Mom and Kandyce helped me make some pizza pockets, and then we watched Ender's Game (SO good! I really liked it.) It was a lot of fun, and good to spend time at home.
Dad doing the dishes, Liam being a stinker, and mom making the chicken pillows.

There are like a million cats, and all that snow came down that morning.

Liam being a bit dramatic.

Bucket List 1

Ever since I was little I've always wanted to travel. Maybe it comes from being from a small town in Wyoming (population 506...not even kidding), or maybe it comes from watching too many movies and seeing too many beautiful pictures of places outside of where I was. Needless to say, my bucket list is going to be full of places I want to visit.

New York City has always been some where I've wanted to visit. The big city life just seems so interesting to me. I want to see the busy streets, the massive crowds, not to mention all the touristy sites. I'm not going to lie, I'd be a total tourist, with my camera out, taking pictures everywhere I go, staring in awe at everything that is new. Now of course, this isn't something I'd be able to do in a day. I'd have to take a week or so, so I don't miss anything. I guess I'd better start saving up my money!

Before I go on all these wonderful trips though, I plan to create a travel journal, with places within the places that I would like to visit. Because if you have it written down, then you have to do it, right?

Have you been to New York City? Share your photos, or your favorite places to visit!

A Simple Photo | 01.21.14

(Me in front of the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington DC. I forgot what that building was and spend 30 minutes googling different things to figure it out. I finally got it!)
When I was little, my Aunt Marcie was a nanny in Boston. We would write letters back and forth and she would occasionally send me pictures. One time she took a trip to the Washington DC temple and sent me the most beautiful pictures of it. From that day on, it became my favorite temple, and I swore that I would visit it someday.
Fast forward to my junior year of high school, and there was a boy that I met when I went to visit my sister Shari up at BYU-I who was serving a mission in the Maryland area. We wrote back and forth, and he too sent me some beautiful pictures of the DC temple and the Baltimore area. It made me want to visit that area even more.
Fast forward another seven or so years and my sister-in-law Adrienne and her husband Mark moved out to Virginia, and I hoped and hoped that I would get to visit them sometime. I finally got my wish, and in November of 2011, I flew out of SLC with my in-laws. I was beyond excited. While I definitely wanted to visit the DC temple, I just wanted to see the DC area. I was lucky enough to get to do both. The temple was absolutely beautiful. We went at night at got to see it all lit up. So pretty. Then we were able to spend a day in DC itself. It was beyond amazing. There is so much history there, it was unbelievable. I could have spent a lot more time there. One day just doesn't cut it. Just walking around the museums was an adventure, but to see the architecture there and all these buildings that you only see on TV, incredible. I didn't want to leave. I didn't get to see enough, but the memories I have of that place are amazing.

I hope to be able to visit there again someday, and be able to see everything all over again, plus the places that we missed. I want to learn more about the history of our country so it will mean all that much more. I also want my future children to be able to experience it and to have fun adventures with their parents that they, too, will cherish forever.

Anywhere?

If you could snap your fingers and appear somewhere else, where would you be?

Hawaii! California! England! Somewhere totally awesome that I've never been before, because Utah is kind of boring, and I don't want to be here!

3 Places

Name three place you'd like to visit this year.

Places I'd LIKE to visit, or places that would actually be more likely that I'd visit. Places I'd LIKE to visit -- Hawaii (warm), England, back East (DC, Virginia, Maryland, etc). But since those aren't likely to happen, I would say -- the Hogle Zoo, sunny California (I wanna go to the beach), and Cold Stone (that way I'll at least make it to one of them!).

And since I've been keeping up with P365 (picture a day), here's the one from today. I finally got them on my computer, so hopefully I'll get some recent updates too. I'm following Fat Mum Slim's prompts which has been a good way to keep me going with this since my life is pretty boring.
Since I didn't have to work today, I decided to photograph what I do when I'm not at work, which is usually some type of scrapbooking. Here I'm making some templates. I busted a pack out in no time today.
