Thanksgiving 2016

Our Thanksgiving was nice and peaceful. Fairly uneventful. The food was terribly delicious. Greg did a great job as he always does. We had turkey, potatoes, stuffing, mushrooms, shrimp, all that yummy stuff. And enjoyed it all while watching the Cowboys win their Thanksgiving Day game.

Then we set up our tree and some of our lights.

Like I said, pretty low-key. We did take our new car out and drive around a little bit, so that was good fun as well. Then we went to bed.

I had to work the day after, so that is awesome! It was pretty slow, so that made it nice. Steve took the day off, so we decided to decorate his cubicle.

This is about all I contributed. One of us had o work! :)

It was fun, and Steve loved it. It was a good, fun Thanksgiving weekend.

The Summer That Was

I still can't believe it's already October. I feel, again, like this year has just flown by, and especially summer! Like really, where did it go? Here are a few more randoms from the end of our summer.

Greg sometimes goes out to eat while he's at work, and then he'll come home and rave about how amazing these different places are. Luckily, he's willing to take me to those place to try them also. This time we went to Mundos, which is right on campuss across from the football stadium.

Super yummy Mexican food. The burritos are huge and quite delicious.
Our park decided to put in speed bumps....again....right in front of my house. Awesome.
Just a lovely night in Cache Valley.
How we spend our weekends. We are quite the party animals!
 National Bacon Day
Our absolute LAST TRIP to Hastings...Did I mention it's closing? If I haven't, it is, and Greg is super bummed about it.
After many,  many, months of our toilet being dumb, we FINALLY replaced the big ball floater thingy. Can I just say that it was MY genius that got it fixed? Greg just did the work!

And just a cute little Greg sleeping in what has to be the most comfortable position.
Here we are at Hastings for the LAST TIME (again!).
We started Fringe on Netflix, only to find that it was leaving Netflix. We have really enjoyed the show (despite the crazy dreams I've been having since watching it), so we went to Hastings to see if they had the seasons. We were able to get all the seasons for about $50. Win, win!
That's about how we've been spending the end of our summer. Watching Fringe, which is actually pretty good. It's been a nice time-waster for sure.

Again, it's crazy that summer is over, and we are almost in the middle of October. I definitely need to do better at this blogging thing, so our timelines don't get messed up. (Oh Fringe...the things you've done to me! William Bell, Timelines, Other Universes...)

Aggies, BYU, Halloween, & Thanksgiving

New Year, New Resolutions....like blogging more frequently to avoid massive catch-up posts! :)

I had a day off in October, and decided I would clean the house. Of course it turned into a bigger mess than actually cleaning, but I did find this cute gem. Pretty sure Kennan drew it while I was at Western. (Hence, the red jersey). Too cute, right?

I'm still lucky enough to work Saturdays. I have a tendency to not get out of bed early enough, so this is a rush to shower and get out the door attempt. First time in a while that I've kept my hair wet and scrunched it. Kinda like it...

Greg & Marcus the Carcass

I had to go to the mall to search for my Halloween costume, and we decided to get lunch here. It was...ehh...okay. I had the fish & chips. Fish was okay, fries were soggy, but the mushrooms were excellent. I'd go again just for those.

This is pretty much what work is like....and no, I did not write that.

Dad and the volleyball team have been coming to Aggie games for a while now (we did a couple of times when I was in High School even). I met up with them and really enjoyed going. I was thinking I needed to get me some season tickets for next year, however, the benches are too low, and I doubt I can convince Greg to go with me.) Once in a while is fun though.

DFCU is part of the USU Special Spectators program, which means we get so many tickets to go to football and basketball games. Back in August-ish, our manager asked if we wanted to go to any of the games. One of them was against Wyoming, so I took those. It's been a very long time since I've been to an Aggie game, like since early high school. Ironically, it too was against Wyoming.

I got to be on the field before the game, and that was pretty neat. Not going to lie, I kind of miss being in the "lights", or on the court  playing in front of people. It's quite the experience. (Also one reason it's hard for me to watch any team lose.)

Oh, and Greg went with me. I was afraid it was going to be super cold, so I dressed extra warm. It had rained all day, but the weather was quite nice, and only drizzled a little on us. Overall a fun night. We even stayed through the 3rd quarter.

Little-known fact about me:I rather enjoy being a pain in the butt to my co-workers. Steven really despises BYU, so I thought it would be fun to buy a BYU shirt, and the next time we were allowed to wear our game-day gear, I'd wear a Cougars shirt. It happened to fall on Halloween, so as part of my brilliancy, I would wear the Cougar shirt, with a sign that Steve actually wrote that said, "Kick Me" on my back, and call myself, "A BYU fan in Aggie territory." I'm super creative.

It was $5. Also, a youth XL. #score! (Also, turns out it's one of the more comfortable shirts I own! and Yes, I have worn it more than that one day!)

The Oldies getting our pictures taken, and yes, Donna literally kicked me.

One Direction came out with a new Album. It's my favorite. I am obsessed!

Leaving work after it's dark is a bit scary sometimes!

My part of our "turkey"
Our branch turkey

Our Thanksgiving was just lovely. Slept in, watched TV, Greg cooked the turkey. It was delicious. We didn't cook near as much as we normally do, but it was enough, and it was really yummy. Lots to be grateful for.

This is our family photo for this year! Turkey-day 2016.
We went to the Hunger Games after eating. The cowboys were not doing so awesome, so I think Greg just wanted to get out of the house (even though he watched it on his phone while waiting for the movie to start.)

Great movie. SO much better than the book (that I didn't even make it through). Really well done. Of course, I love Jennifer Lawrence, so that helped a bit too.

The Big 3-0 Minus 1

So this year I turned the big 3-0 minus 1! Pretty crazy right? Like I posted on that day, the number is that old, my body feels that old (older), but my mind is as young as sarcastic and awesome as always. In the past I've been a little reluctant to accept my age, but this year I embraced it. I guess knowing that you can't actually prevent aging from happening helped a little with that. But I was really excited to celebrate my big day.

I woke up and got ready for work, when Greg presented me with my breakfast. Macarons. I've never had them before, but they sure were delicious. I'm okay with that being an everyday breakfast.

He also got me some flowers. These are my favorites. I love all the bright colors.

I headed to work, since I'm not lucky enough to not work on my birthday. Didn't even get a half day like in the past. I blame my old manager for leaving. (Kidding Danny....kind of). But I walked in to this.

They wanted me to feel like I was back in California...or something. Those seagulls get used quite often as we use them repeatedly for different "pranks". My coworkers are the greatest. (And yes, they allow me to keep my 1D poster up). And also, I know, my hair looks awesome. Magenta for the win!

I received numerous texts and facebook messages wishing me happy birthday, and since I'm lame and didn't ever respond to any of them, I'm going to thank you all here. You guys are the greatest! My friend Aubrey sent me this awkward gem from 6th grade.

I also received these pretty flowers (that look like they are dying in this picture...because they were by the time I took a picture) from my parents. Thanks parents! Loved them and love you guys!

Once home, Greg treated me to my favorite of all favorite food.....CRAB. Yes, I'm obsessed/addicted/whatever you want to call it. He unfortunately made me eat other foods with it (noodles, watermelon and shrimp), but it was still good.

And so that is how my 29th birthday went. I am blessed to see another year go by, blessed with great family, friends, and co-workers. And blessed to share my awesomeness with the world for a little bit longer.

And, these popsicles rock. Just so you know!
