Family Time in Logan

The family all came down to Logan to do some temple work. The kids came over to my house while the adults were off partying.

Greg bought this silly little "decision maker" toy. You ask it a question, and then let the pendulum swing until it stops on one of the answers (definitely, maybe, try again, etc.) They played with it for a good 20 minutes before Alex decided that he had had enough waiting for cotton candy, then they all got up and went into the kitchen to see what they could find.

They finally found the cotton candy machine, and spent another good 30 minutes or so making cotton candy.

Then we went for a walk to the park around the corner from our trailer park. Alex, up front with Greg, while Aidan stayed back with me. Their personalities kill me.

They had fun playing and climbing.

For the record, I DID NOT condone this behavior. I told them to not jump and grab on while it spun around, however, once I left with Aidan, leaving Greg in charge, he let them do it....haha

This was a fun toy...until Aidan went flying off and hit his head. I do have video, but it's over on my instagram page if you want to see it. It was funny, but sad at the same time. Poor kid! He and I left early and went to get some ice for his head.

After the park, and once Greg and the other two got there, We pulled out some water guns that we had. We couldn't find our water balloons, so the guns would have to do. They of course had fun, especially when it came to squirting m. Little punks! You can see that they enjoyed getting Greg too, which was funny because he had the hose.

After water guns, their parents came and we all went to Pizza Pie Cafe.

Aidan's battle wound, with Shar's stank face in the background.

And a picture of all of us who were there. Just missing a few spouses and Kandyce's kids (who were at their Grandma Kaylene's house, because my parents didn't think we could handle 5 kids! Psh, they under estimate our abilities. Only 1/3 left with any injuries, so the odds were clearly in our favor!)

It was good to see family again and we miss them all so much!

28 by 29 | Date Night 1

16 // Have 12 planned date nights with the hubby

That equals one real(ish) date per month. We don't ever really go on dates. We just do our thing week after week. I want to actually have something planned so it's like we are actually going on a date, not just being our usual coupley selves.

Since July was slowly coming to an end and I hadn't really come up with anything to do, I ran across the above image on Pinterest, and decided that's what we'd do for our first date. On July 17, I sent Greg that image in a text and said, "You, me, tomorrow night?"

Strangely, he agreed. He even went shopping for the pizza toppings while I was at work. And he put the bread dough in. We have a bread maker, so don't expect any fancy recipe for the dough. It was quite basic, and I'm sure Pinterest has even better recipes anyway!

We both had the idea to make individual pizzas, so we heated up the oven and started rolling out the dough. About 30 seconds into it, we saw a spark, then a fire in our oven. The bottom element was burning out, literally burning. It was kind of funny. We had to get out our toaster oven to finish making them. They still turned out delicious.

 {Greg's is on top, mine are on the bottom}

Once they were done, we ate and watched, "I, Frankenstein" which was a lot better than I imagined it would be. Seeing previews I thought it looked super cheesy, but it really was quite good, and a different twist on the Frankenstein story.

Now, it really wasn't much more than what we normally do, but making a point to call it a date, and putting away our phones, ipad, and tablets for those few hours made it all the more special. Now I just need to come up with 11 more date ideas. What do you have?

Pizza

My favorite pizza toppings are...

See, here's the thing about pizza. I love pizza, but I'm kind of weird when it comes to toppings. I like cheese, I also like pepperoni or ham and pineapple, but I almost always pick of the toppings. I'll occasionally each some of them, but mostly pick them off. I get that I could just order plain ol' cheese, but it just doesn't taste the same. I love thin crust dominos ham and pineapple. Reminds me of Greg and Western. I also love Papa Johns. The best pizza ever. But yes, we order ham and mushrooms usually, and I pick off the toppings. Anything but meat lovers or any type of veggies. Those are harder to pick off the toppings, and the taste that lingers isn't so good.
