The Big 3-0 Minus 1

So this year I turned the big 3-0 minus 1! Pretty crazy right? Like I posted on that day, the number is that old, my body feels that old (older), but my mind is as young as sarcastic and awesome as always. In the past I've been a little reluctant to accept my age, but this year I embraced it. I guess knowing that you can't actually prevent aging from happening helped a little with that. But I was really excited to celebrate my big day.

I woke up and got ready for work, when Greg presented me with my breakfast. Macarons. I've never had them before, but they sure were delicious. I'm okay with that being an everyday breakfast.

He also got me some flowers. These are my favorites. I love all the bright colors.

I headed to work, since I'm not lucky enough to not work on my birthday. Didn't even get a half day like in the past. I blame my old manager for leaving. (Kidding Danny....kind of). But I walked in to this.

They wanted me to feel like I was back in California...or something. Those seagulls get used quite often as we use them repeatedly for different "pranks". My coworkers are the greatest. (And yes, they allow me to keep my 1D poster up). And also, I know, my hair looks awesome. Magenta for the win!

I received numerous texts and facebook messages wishing me happy birthday, and since I'm lame and didn't ever respond to any of them, I'm going to thank you all here. You guys are the greatest! My friend Aubrey sent me this awkward gem from 6th grade.

I also received these pretty flowers (that look like they are dying in this picture...because they were by the time I took a picture) from my parents. Thanks parents! Loved them and love you guys!

Once home, Greg treated me to my favorite of all favorite food.....CRAB. Yes, I'm obsessed/addicted/whatever you want to call it. He unfortunately made me eat other foods with it (noodles, watermelon and shrimp), but it was still good.

And so that is how my 29th birthday went. I am blessed to see another year go by, blessed with great family, friends, and co-workers. And blessed to share my awesomeness with the world for a little bit longer.

And, these popsicles rock. Just so you know!

The Rest of August

The 6th, my friend Melanie had a baby shower. After two adorable boys, she finally is getting her girl. I had a lot of fun shopping for some super cute baby girl clothes. Had to make sure to get lots of PINK for her. It was a good night, and I appreciate Mel talking to me forever after. Since we’re no longer in young women’s together, I don’t see her as often, and since we can’t work out at the moment, we don’t get that time either. So thanks Mel. Sorry for keeping you so late.

Let’s see…Greg is getting closer to school starting. He finally put up some decorations. That’s about all though.

August is my favorite time of year when it comes to Arctic Circle shakes. It’s huckleberry days. Super delicious.

My brother-in-law Kyan was blessing his baby on the 25th, so we headed down on the 24th. My in-laws were getting a hotel, so we got us a room also. We had KFC and went swimming/hot tubbing. It was so great. I think my future home will have a massive hot tub. The next day we went to sacrament, then went to Kyan’s and played with the kids. They are such cute kids, and so much fun.

August was a busy month, but apparently super boring. Going through my pictures on my phone, nothing very exciting happened.

So, my boss won an iPad for work, and he was gone the day that it got here, so we decided to send him on a treasure hunt to find it. It was pretty funny, and made the day go faster coming up with clues and trying to figure out where to send him. Caleb even took it a bit further and actually burned the paper to make it look more realistic. When Danny got in the next day, the first thing he said was, “My iPad should be coming, so don’t hide it from me or anything.” Little did he know…he was a good sport about it though. Its nice having fun co-workers.
And I think that was about it for August.

The rest of July…

I can’t believe how time has just flown by. Seriously. It’s already half way through September, and I’m so behind on blogging, it’s not even funny. I’m actually typing this up at work since I don’t really love my computer (or the chair we have over there for me to sit in.) so if I don’t do it now, it may never get done.

The 20th of July was a bridal shower for my sister-in-law-to-be, Ashbee. I was able to go to Cokeville and see family and a few friends (since Ashbee’s aunt is actually my age. What?!? Kind of crazy, right?). It was a lot of fun though, and great to see everyone. I don’t know Ashbee all that well, and of course what I do remember/know of her, is just as little girl. But I’ve always liked her, and think she just has the cutest personality. I’m super excited for her to be a part of the family. Her ‘theme’ was a time of day shower, and I had 2:00. I decided if I were home at 2, I’d probably be watching my Soap Operas (love that there is a SOAP Network), so I got her the first season of Pretty Little Liars (which I’ve never actually seen, but McKenzie LOVES), and some baking stuff. I was super proud of myself.

I also got to see cute little Liam who is just the cutest, even if he wanted me to walk him around.
Greg technically started school on the 22nd, and went in a few days that week, and then was pretty busy the entire next week trying to get the schedule figured out. I think at this point he was wondering what he got himself into, but he stuck with it, and is enjoying himself. He wouldn’t let me decorate his room, so it’s a bit bare, but it’s kind of exciting that he has his own office and everything. He’s legit people! (Oh, and we got some Coldstone a few times)

I took a few days off that week, and we went up to Star Valley on the 23rd after work. My mother-in-law and Annie were flying out to DC on the 25th, so we went up to bring them back so Kyan could take them to the airport.
It was a nice little break, despite the fact that Greg destroyed my leg when we went four-wheeling. I was sitting behind him and we ran over a bit stick and it flipped up and scratched my leg up. Of course the first thing Greg did was rub my leg. Ouch! Not the best of ideas. But I survived the attack

After that short trip to Wyoming, we brought my MIL and Annie to Kyan’s in Salt Lake. We stayed the night and then went to Hogle Zoo the next day. It was pretty fun to take the kids and walk around. There was a lot that was closed off, which was kind of disappointing, however it made for a shorter day, and less walking. I do okay if I’m not walking a ton, so we were there for the perfect amount of time.

I was a bit disappointed though. One Direction was in the SAME TOWN as I was, and I didn’t even get to see them. They had their concert in Salt Lake on the 25th, and Greg didn’t let me go, or even let me try to stalk them in any way. I was totally bummed. I even tried to win tickets, but Greg told me the wrong radio station, even though I knew it was the right one. So disappointing. Maybe next year, right? We should be rich by then.

And then Greg thought it would be funny to text me this...

But he was good to bandage me up and keep by wounds from getting infected.
That was about how my July went. Summer just isn’t summer when you have to work. It’s all good though. We tried to find things to do with what little time we had off. It went by way too fast though.

Oh, and PS. If you want to keep caught up on my daily haps, don't forget to check {here}.

Most Valuable

What is the most valuable thing you own?

My marriage! (Can you own a marriage?) The other stuff I have can all be easily replaced. Marriage...not so much. He's kind of stuck with my forever... (don't worry...it'll only seem like eternity!)

My House is a Home

I think this pretty much sums it up.
I found this on {this ladies' blog} a while ago, and fell in love with it. Especially after reading {this post}. It's the truth.
