Halloween 2016

I am not a Halloween person, in the slightest. I tolerate Greg's need to decorate the house, but when it comes to dressing up, it causes more stress than anything, so I usually don't. This year I decided to show up as "Casual Friday Bre", but my manager had other plans. She brought me this awesome sweater to wear. Not gonna lie, I kind of loved it.
So, we tease Steve about being "Grumpy Cat". We also tease him about his girlfriend "Kate". (Long story short, I was IM-ing him about something and he was responding telling me he hadn't talked to his wife, Kaye, but it came out Kate. We now tease him about having a girlfriend)."Kate" is on the poster that Steve is standing next to.

Steve celebrates his work anniversary on Halloween every year. This year, Kriss was looking for a grumpy cat sweater to help him celebrate, and we found the absolutely perfect sweater for him. He loved it! (And also won the prize for best "LOL" costume).
 We are pretty rad.
We also had a pumpkin decorating contest. I am pretty talented with these things, so here is my cute cat pumpkin.
And I had to get a picture of me and my pumpkin. I'm pretty great.
And just like that it was over, and now I've been watching cheesy Christmas shows on Hallmark, and I love it! I love this time of year. So, so much! And I love cheesy Christmas shows, so you know I'm going to take advantage of this channel!
And Friday, which we all knew would be crazy, was made all better when Chandler walked in with drinks for everyone! I cried a bit. He's just the greatest!

Work, Work, Work, Work, Work

Towards the end of July,my co-worker Chandler and I headed to our corporate office in Salt Lake to do some "job shadowing". We went and sat with different departments, and kind of learned what they did. Apparently we were the guinea pigs. None of the groups really knew what exactly to do, but it was nice to go down, miss a day of actual work, and meet some of the people that we really only interact with over the phone.

It was pretty interesting because we all have our "favorites" from each department, and we've really only talked to them over the phone. We also have our not-so-favorites, and while some of them proved to be more awesome than we initially thought, others were exactly as we thought. But it was a good experience, and even though I was disappointed that I didn't get to learn what I was hoping to, it was still nice to go down and meet with these people face to face. Plus, I got to go with Chandler, and we had so much fun.
Then, again towards the end of August, I went down for IRA training with my Assistant Manager, Steve, aka the Ass. Man. (JK, i love Steve! He's the greatest!). It was a lot of fun, and a really great training. We went and ate lunch at some burger joint, where the onion rings were fantastic, and the bacon cheeseburger had no bacon.

It was a really great training. I learned quite a bit, and look forward to becoming an IRA specialist...ha. Such a joke! But, really. Good times were had.
Both trips I took, I couldn't help but think about how nice it would be to just head to the airport instead and take a flight somewhere. Obviously it didn't happen.
The next evening, August 26, we had a work dinner at Steve's house. It was for all of the Logan branch and spouses. Greg was thrilled to go. But it was really a lot of fun. I have some really great co-workers. We are all so very different, but surprisingly, get along so very well (most times).
Our manager has a bag of random $1 store goodies that she will pass around for us to draw from every now and then. We got these, which are PERFECT for our table legs!
So, Steve has this pink bathroom that we have been talking about for a long time. He tried to convince me to buy his house, and I told him only if he redid the pink bathroom. Well, because we have been teasing him for so long, we begged and BEGGED to see it. It was pretty fantastic, and he was a great sport about it.
I'm seriously so blessed to have amazing co-workers!

August Life

August is almost over. I don't know how that happened. I feel lik this year, once again, has just flown by! Here another boring update on my life in August.

I've been thinking about my diet quite a bit lately. Of course, it doesn't help that I have had 2 different people tell me I should try the AIP diet (or Paleo). I've done some research on what it is, not necessarily how effective it is, or how proven it is, but my findings all come down to the same result...I don't think I could cut all those foods out of my diet. I mean, who does that? It seems strange. I have my own opinions on "healthy diet", but I'll save that for a different day. All I'm saying is that when I'm at the grocery store and I walk past the Cheese Whiz, I am probably going to buy it.
We didn't get to see too much of the Olympics, but the ones that we did see were amazing! Crazy to think how young some of these athletes are. The volleyball was fun to watch, and Gymnastics are always my favorite. Honestly, though, with as amazing as their routines were, I couldn't help but think about how amazing it would be to be able to just reach down and pick something off the floor. I don't need to be able to do flips and cartwheels and all those crazy things. Still pretty amazing to watch.
Work, oh work, oh work! I can't have a post without something work-related, right? Of course, I could probably dedicate an entire blog to work happenings....**IDEA**...but here's the work related stuff as of late.

I'm sure I've probably mentioned this, but a few years ago we had a co-worker named Lee. He was our mortgage officer, and he was awesome. He would come back and talk to us quite a bit, and he would always bring us chips and salsa from El Sol. Well, even though Lee is no longer at the CU (sad days!) we still enjoy chips and salsa...pretty much every week. It's a good snack break. If only we could have it "on tap".
We've had this cute gal come in who worked at KarieAnne's snack shack, or something like that. Basically, it's Italian Ice, Custard, Italian Ice. She had brought over some samples at the beginning of summer, and has been telling us about how they got huckleberry custard in, and how delicious it is. Finally, we decided to go get some, and boy oh boy, it did not disappoint! I got Pina Colada & Huckleberry. So sweet, So delicious!
I have had a few frustrating days. I'd get into it more, but I don't have time here before church!
I complained about this on instagram, but here we go again. Boob-sweat money is disgusting. Even more disgusting when you see them pull it from their bras. I mean, if I don't know why it's wet, I can usually handle it okay, but witnessing the pull from bra + sweaty wetness. I kind of wanted to cut my hands off when I was done! DON'T DO IT! Keep your money in your purse or wallet.
The heating & cooling in the building is always fun. It's either way to cold, (most of the time), or the cooler breaks, and we have no air! That's always fun. Sweat dripping down our foreheads and backs. Totally attractive. Unfortunately, they did not allow us to close. Lame, right? Luckily it was only this way for a day and a half before we got it fixed.

Football season is upon us! YAY!! Let's just not talk about how Tony is injured for another 10 weeks already!
This summer has just blown by! I can't believe it. It has been a decently warm summer, with very, VERY little rain. I am excited for the cooler weather, and hopefully some massive rain storms!
Crazy to think Greg is back in school, and in his 4th year. Where has time gone?
That's about how awesome my August has been. I have a few more fun things to blog about, but for now, that's all you get!

July Haps

Just some random July happenings. We went to Morty's one Saturday to get burgers. It's always fun to go out with this guy, even if we get the food to go and end up back home/

I have been wanting to get a kitchen island to replace our big table. I figured we could just buy one, but they are a bit expensive, so Greg took it upon himself to make one himself. Not going to lie, when he told me he needed some 2x4's, I was a bit nervous to see what he was going to come up with, but it's turning out really nice so far, and he has put a lot of work into it.

Just some random pictures of the two of us. He loves when I take pictures, so I have to pretend that I'm not....

I convinced Greg to go with me when I got my hair done last. We had a great time with my favorite hairstylist, Tami. She did her best to convince him to get us a house, but was not successful. She sure tried though!

National Ice Cream Day happened. Ice cream just iscny as awesome as it once was, but I still do love it.

Greg's favorite store is going out of business. We've got until the end of October to enjoy it's presence.

I won't post my usual funniness about these next pictures. Just know that it was funny, and I literally laughed out loud in church when I saw it.

We had some excitement a few weeks ago at work. I head to lunch, and as I look out the window, I see about 3 cop cars. I thought that maybe one of our baits had tripped, and they were there to see what was going on. So I go let my manager know. She goes out and comes in a little later telling us all to just stay inside, and that they had a potentially armed, suicidal man over at the bus stop in front of Wal-Mart. We didn't really think anything of it, until all of a sudden we hear, "Shots fired, shots fired" and all the police that were in front of the credit union run past the windows over towards the bus stop. That, of course, got our attention, so we went into our manager's office where we actually had a pretty good view of what was going on. They had blocked off all of main street, the roads coming out of Wal-Mart, so needless to say, no one was coming in the branch. We didn't see what happened initially, just that the perp (I get to call him that, right?) was on the ground, and the officers were moving in. A short time later an ambulance pulled up and they took the guy away. They had things blocked off for a good two hours. It was seriously crazy, intense, and I'm sure we looked nuts all gathered at the window to see what was happening. Then, of course we had people asking us all day what happened. It was crazy, is all I can say about it. According to the news, that took forever to break the story, the man was from Preston, and was looking for "suicide by cop". Needless to say, he ended up shooting himself in the head, but survived. (Well, at least the last I had heard.) I was very impressed with how the cops handled the situation though. It could have been a lot worse, I'm sure. First a bomb threat (from a few years ago), and then this shooting. Crazy times for sure!

Last Thursday Chandler and I went down to Salt Lake to do some "job shadowing" at the ops center. Worst idea ever. Now I want to either move to SLC or commute. It was a good day though. Good to meet some of the people I only talk to and hate over the phone. I don't hate them all anymore.

Muah...hahahahaha....I've been planning this for at least 3 weeks and got an opportunity to do it. I was on his computer helping him with something, then he turned away for a minute and I got this done. My profile says, "I am Steve's favorite co-worker."

The Big 3-0!

It finally happened. I turned the big 3-0. It was just as awful as I expected it to be. Just another year older, and not much to show for it.

Just kidding, but it was a good day. Greg surprised me by redoing our kitchen floor. Goodbye ugly carpet, hello beautiful floor. I was a bit nervous about it, but he did a good job. I love it.

This is what the floor looked like under the beautiful carpet.

The final product.

Doesn't it look so great? I love it.

This is what I walked into at work. We loved us some good parties and decorating.

We continue to have fun with them, even weeks later.

The giraffe/elephant combo won the "chicken war". We're totally mature.

Since it was the Friday before the 4th, and we got beautiful sparkly crowns and necklaces. It was a good day for sure.

My actual birthday was good too. Mom and Dad stopped by with some rugs for my kitchen, and some cupcakes. It was good to see them.

Then Kandyce, Clay and the kids stopped by where we had loads of fun, which I'll post about later.

Greg spoiled me rotten, like usual, and I'm excited to see what this year brings.
