Thanksgiving 2016

Our Thanksgiving was nice and peaceful. Fairly uneventful. The food was terribly delicious. Greg did a great job as he always does. We had turkey, potatoes, stuffing, mushrooms, shrimp, all that yummy stuff. And enjoyed it all while watching the Cowboys win their Thanksgiving Day game.

Then we set up our tree and some of our lights.

Like I said, pretty low-key. We did take our new car out and drive around a little bit, so that was good fun as well. Then we went to bed.

I had to work the day after, so that is awesome! It was pretty slow, so that made it nice. Steve took the day off, so we decided to decorate his cubicle.

This is about all I contributed. One of us had o work! :)

It was fun, and Steve loved it. It was a good, fun Thanksgiving weekend.

August Life

August is almost over. I don't know how that happened. I feel lik this year, once again, has just flown by! Here another boring update on my life in August.

I've been thinking about my diet quite a bit lately. Of course, it doesn't help that I have had 2 different people tell me I should try the AIP diet (or Paleo). I've done some research on what it is, not necessarily how effective it is, or how proven it is, but my findings all come down to the same result...I don't think I could cut all those foods out of my diet. I mean, who does that? It seems strange. I have my own opinions on "healthy diet", but I'll save that for a different day. All I'm saying is that when I'm at the grocery store and I walk past the Cheese Whiz, I am probably going to buy it.
We didn't get to see too much of the Olympics, but the ones that we did see were amazing! Crazy to think how young some of these athletes are. The volleyball was fun to watch, and Gymnastics are always my favorite. Honestly, though, with as amazing as their routines were, I couldn't help but think about how amazing it would be to be able to just reach down and pick something off the floor. I don't need to be able to do flips and cartwheels and all those crazy things. Still pretty amazing to watch.
Work, oh work, oh work! I can't have a post without something work-related, right? Of course, I could probably dedicate an entire blog to work happenings....**IDEA**...but here's the work related stuff as of late.

I'm sure I've probably mentioned this, but a few years ago we had a co-worker named Lee. He was our mortgage officer, and he was awesome. He would come back and talk to us quite a bit, and he would always bring us chips and salsa from El Sol. Well, even though Lee is no longer at the CU (sad days!) we still enjoy chips and salsa...pretty much every week. It's a good snack break. If only we could have it "on tap".
We've had this cute gal come in who worked at KarieAnne's snack shack, or something like that. Basically, it's Italian Ice, Custard, Italian Ice. She had brought over some samples at the beginning of summer, and has been telling us about how they got huckleberry custard in, and how delicious it is. Finally, we decided to go get some, and boy oh boy, it did not disappoint! I got Pina Colada & Huckleberry. So sweet, So delicious!
I have had a few frustrating days. I'd get into it more, but I don't have time here before church!
I complained about this on instagram, but here we go again. Boob-sweat money is disgusting. Even more disgusting when you see them pull it from their bras. I mean, if I don't know why it's wet, I can usually handle it okay, but witnessing the pull from bra + sweaty wetness. I kind of wanted to cut my hands off when I was done! DON'T DO IT! Keep your money in your purse or wallet.
The heating & cooling in the building is always fun. It's either way to cold, (most of the time), or the cooler breaks, and we have no air! That's always fun. Sweat dripping down our foreheads and backs. Totally attractive. Unfortunately, they did not allow us to close. Lame, right? Luckily it was only this way for a day and a half before we got it fixed.

Football season is upon us! YAY!! Let's just not talk about how Tony is injured for another 10 weeks already!
This summer has just blown by! I can't believe it. It has been a decently warm summer, with very, VERY little rain. I am excited for the cooler weather, and hopefully some massive rain storms!
Crazy to think Greg is back in school, and in his 4th year. Where has time gone?
That's about how awesome my August has been. I have a few more fun things to blog about, but for now, that's all you get!

Aggies, BYU, Halloween, & Thanksgiving

New Year, New Resolutions....like blogging more frequently to avoid massive catch-up posts! :)

I had a day off in October, and decided I would clean the house. Of course it turned into a bigger mess than actually cleaning, but I did find this cute gem. Pretty sure Kennan drew it while I was at Western. (Hence, the red jersey). Too cute, right?

I'm still lucky enough to work Saturdays. I have a tendency to not get out of bed early enough, so this is a rush to shower and get out the door attempt. First time in a while that I've kept my hair wet and scrunched it. Kinda like it...

Greg & Marcus the Carcass

I had to go to the mall to search for my Halloween costume, and we decided to get lunch here. It was...ehh...okay. I had the fish & chips. Fish was okay, fries were soggy, but the mushrooms were excellent. I'd go again just for those.

This is pretty much what work is like....and no, I did not write that.

Dad and the volleyball team have been coming to Aggie games for a while now (we did a couple of times when I was in High School even). I met up with them and really enjoyed going. I was thinking I needed to get me some season tickets for next year, however, the benches are too low, and I doubt I can convince Greg to go with me.) Once in a while is fun though.

DFCU is part of the USU Special Spectators program, which means we get so many tickets to go to football and basketball games. Back in August-ish, our manager asked if we wanted to go to any of the games. One of them was against Wyoming, so I took those. It's been a very long time since I've been to an Aggie game, like since early high school. Ironically, it too was against Wyoming.

I got to be on the field before the game, and that was pretty neat. Not going to lie, I kind of miss being in the "lights", or on the court  playing in front of people. It's quite the experience. (Also one reason it's hard for me to watch any team lose.)

Oh, and Greg went with me. I was afraid it was going to be super cold, so I dressed extra warm. It had rained all day, but the weather was quite nice, and only drizzled a little on us. Overall a fun night. We even stayed through the 3rd quarter.

Little-known fact about me:I rather enjoy being a pain in the butt to my co-workers. Steven really despises BYU, so I thought it would be fun to buy a BYU shirt, and the next time we were allowed to wear our game-day gear, I'd wear a Cougars shirt. It happened to fall on Halloween, so as part of my brilliancy, I would wear the Cougar shirt, with a sign that Steve actually wrote that said, "Kick Me" on my back, and call myself, "A BYU fan in Aggie territory." I'm super creative.

It was $5. Also, a youth XL. #score! (Also, turns out it's one of the more comfortable shirts I own! and Yes, I have worn it more than that one day!)

The Oldies getting our pictures taken, and yes, Donna literally kicked me.

One Direction came out with a new Album. It's my favorite. I am obsessed!

Leaving work after it's dark is a bit scary sometimes!

My part of our "turkey"
Our branch turkey

Our Thanksgiving was just lovely. Slept in, watched TV, Greg cooked the turkey. It was delicious. We didn't cook near as much as we normally do, but it was enough, and it was really yummy. Lots to be grateful for.

This is our family photo for this year! Turkey-day 2016.
We went to the Hunger Games after eating. The cowboys were not doing so awesome, so I think Greg just wanted to get out of the house (even though he watched it on his phone while waiting for the movie to start.)

Great movie. SO much better than the book (that I didn't even make it through). Really well done. Of course, I love Jennifer Lawrence, so that helped a bit too.

Work Shenanigans

I can't say this enough, but I have THE greatest co-workers in the world. They are so dang amazing.

One of my co-workers, we shall call Caleb (because that's his name), is just one of a kind. We can argue and laugh about anything. He is a major Packers fan, while I love the Cowboys. The NFL playoffs worked out that the Cowboys would be playing at Lambo. The Monday after the Cowboys won to go on to play the Packers I decided that we needed to have some fun. Even though I don't really care either way as far as the NFL is concerned, Caleb is very much into his team.

I started it by just doing some little things.

Excellent use of work time & supplies. I then took it up a notch by creating a little story board. Caleb is in love with Taylor Swift, so I thought I'd use that against him. I found this picture of him on facebook (love that his profile isn't private), so I cut out his head and placed it on Ryan Gosling's body.

C: "Hey Girl, you know I'm a Packers fan, right?"
TS: "Oh Crap"

TS: "I knew you were trouble when you walked in!"

TS: "You're the reason for the teardrops on my guitar."
C: "Babe, your hair is much prettier than Clay Matthews'."

C: But Aaron Rodgers is so much sexier than Tony Romo! (And you!)
TS: We are never, ever, EVER, getting back together.

TS: "The haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate."
(Wearing a Cowboys jersey)

He thought it was pretty good. I knew he had a plan to get me back, but I had no idea what he was going to do. Imagine my surprise when I walked in to find about 10 sacks of potatoes all around my station with the note, "You've been 'sacked' by Clay Matthews." It was awesome.

I couldn't let him get the last laugh, so I thought and thought all morning before coming up with my next brilliant plan about 45 minutes before he was to come in to work. I wanted to use those potatoes against him, and thought of any potato puns , and I think I came up with a good one to end it all...

Needless to say, he wasn't too happy that I got the last prank. However, in reality, he ended up the winner as his team beat mine.

You win.....I'm sure you'll understand if I'm a bit "crabby" this week. (I made him crab dip)
Also, I changed all my passwords to: PACKERSSUCK!!

And what do you do with ten sacks of potatoes? Give everyone one to take home, then have a potato bar at work with the rest. Heck yes. It was super yummy!

It was a lot of fun. I am so grateful to have awesome co-workers that we can do this type of stuff. Too bad this particular co-worker is leaving our branch at the end of the semester, just don't get me started on that!
